Midfielder Has Michael Beale 'Smiling'.
By Mike, 30/07/23
Rangers manager Michael Beale has heaped praise on new signing Sam Lammers, following another strong pre-season display. The Dutchman joined from Atalanta this summer, and scored with an excellent header as Rangers battled to a 2-2 draw against Hoffenheim in the final pre-season fixture ahead of the new season. Lammers has already shown his ability in the air going forward, and he has arguably been the biggest positive to come out of pre-season so far.
Speaking after the game, Beale praised Lammers, indicating that there is more to come from the 26-year-old in front of goal once the season starts. “He’s very good in the air. and he’s a player that I think has been robbed of service in the past in terms of the last couple of years, but someone who will score goals will come from deep and get in the box, and I’m delighted for him,” he stated.
“Everyday he’s making me smile, because I can see what a player he can become, it’s early days as I say, no competitive games yet, but Sam goes into the season in the best possible place.”
The forward has had a tough few years in front of goal in Serie A, netting just five goals across 61 games at Eintracht Frankfurt, Sampdoria and Atalanta, and his move to Rangers will hopefully help him find his best form.
He scored 19 times in 35 games for SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands when he was first given regular opportunities, and it is clear that he does have the ability to score goals, with his movement and aerial ability being impressively displayed during pre-season. If he is given regular minutes, and Rangers are able to create chances for him, he could thrive up-front in Scotland, and his size could be useful in the air both in front of goal as well as providing a target to aim long-balls at.
If he can continue his impressive start to life at Ibrox, Lammers could quickly become a fan favourite.

Rangers Midfielder Nears Ibrox Exit
By Mike, 18/07/23
Rangers winger Scott Wright is closing in on a £500,000 move to Turkish top flight new boys Pendikspor.
The 25-year-old has been edging towards the Ibrox exit door with a host of suitors eyeing him up but now a switch abroad appears to be in the offing. The Rangers winger has struggled for game time and will now get a shot in Turkey as he follows former team-mate Ryan Kent who signed for Fenerbahce.
Wright had interest from the English Championship but his impending exit comes days after Antonio Colak joined Parma in a £2.5million deal on Saturday. Rangers boss Michael Beale made clear exits were due and Wright now gets a chance to reignite his career in fresh surroundings reports the Scottish Sun. Team-mate Robby McCrorie is another who could depart and interest remains around Glen Kamara. Aberdeen will be in line for a slice of the fee.
